The company I work at recently moved to a new office building. Dentist office on second floor. I usually leave my Model D the dashboard of my car which is parked about 10 feet from outside wall of the office one floor down. I noticed spikes from about 10 – 12 (normal background) to up to 30 and sometimes 40 during the day. I brought the Model D in and sat it on my desk. I saw the same thing on the display. Catching this happen with the display on I see, for example a 12 (screen refresh) 30 (screen refresh) 18 (screen refresh) back to 12. Quick spikes and and then back down to normal. It happens a few times an hour as a guess.

Has anyone taken their Model D to the dentist? Stood near the x-ray machine with it?

Hi, I just sent it via email. Please make sure your usbAsp is set to 3.3V! This is important, or you risk damaging the model A board.

    Hi Jeff,

It’s no bug, but the server does additional compensation over the measured data. Here, the internal heating of the electronics produces a drift. Therefore, the correct info is displayed on the server. The best way to get the data is via the server API, presented ni the Dashboard.

In later firmware versions, the local data is set to match the server data. Would you like to update your unit’s firmware? It’s easy, see: https://www.uradmonitor.com/uradmonitor-model-a3-firmware-upgrade/

The PM2.5 data is originally generated by the A3, which is then used to extrapolate the PM1.0 / PM10.0 via a linear model, which you probably saw already due to the common chart shapes. Thereโ€™s a lot of literature covering this topic, and more transformation models. So we might see changes to these calculations in the future.

    Hi everyone,

I’m using nagios/check_mk to query the API on the sensor data for my device. I have an A3 model. Did anything change recently because, according to the API, it now has PM1 and PM10 sensors?

If I query the API I get the following list of sensors, but I thought the A3 model only has a PM2.5 sensor, is it a bug in the API/database?

    URL: http://data.uradmonitor.com/api/v1/devices/82000095
    Data:
    {
    “temperature”: “Temperature”,
    “pressure”: “Pressure”,
    “humidity”: “Humidity”,
    “voc”: “VOC”,
    “co2”: “Carbon Dioxide”,
    “ch2o”: “Formaldehyde”,
    “pm1”: “PM1.0”,
    “pm25”: “PM2.5”,
    “pm10”: “PM10”,
    “noise”: “Noise”,
    “cpm”: “Radiation”,
    “voltage”: “Voltage”,
    “duty”: “Duty cycle”,
    “all”: “All”
    }

The API also supplies values for those sensors, but they are not available in the Dashboard, only via the Data download page (https://www.uradmonitor.com/dashboard/#data)
    Data:

Is there actually a noise sensor on the A3. I’ve not noticed it before in the data, but I now see it – however, my unit returns 0 for all readings.

    Thanks

    Thanks for the excellent suggestions!

For the temperature, the components in your model A generate some extra heating. The server has a calibration / compensation layer , common across the various hardware models. This layer is adaptive. The correct value is the one returned by the server, this is why I encourage everyone to use the API for data access.

So the other day I noticed I had some offline data on my Model D and I tried to upload it. What happened was it showed I had 42 records. I hit start. After the 42nd record the unit kept going, and counting up showing things like 50000/42 500001/42 etc. At some point the counter rolled over, and it kept doing this despite me hitting the power button, back button and anything else I could think of without dismantling or breaking the device. It was stuck in a loop and kept going. I finally just left the unit alone and let the battery die completely and left it that way for a day. I have since charged the device backup and it appears to work. I have not yet tried an offline sync but overall not sure I want to try it again without a way to stop it. The unit got very warm.

    Suggestions?

I did take a few pictures and a short movie with my phone if you think it will help I will post them but I think you get the idea.

    Hi there,

just got my model A3 delivered today and tried to set it up.

My wifi password had 20 characters. Only [a-zA-Z0-9] characters. When I entered the password in the A3 it couldn’t connect. When I connected the next time to the A3 wifi and looked at its wifi settings the password had only 19 characters, the last one was missing.

Is it true that only 19 characters are possible for the password? (I changed it to 19 characters and it works fine now)

    Kind Regards

    Matthias

    Hello.
    I love my new model D !
I got two printed stands for it and use it every day.
As other has said her, it got a few issues ! The battery is not very good and the issue with not able to start the item while charging is a big problem. I have connected/disconnected the charger two many times and now the USB connection is starting to losen.
so I guess I will have to solder he USB connector to get it fixed ! Is this something I can do myself or should I take it to a phone repair shop and them to have a look at it ? Or maybe I should send it back to you Radu ?

Thank you for making this amazing product ๐Ÿ™‚

One more thing: My old https://www.uradmonitor.com/?open=11000036 is never going to work again. My house burned down the 10.06.16 and I lost everything, so I guess it should be removed from the map ?

    Hello

First, it would be helpfull if the Display would be shutdown after some time to lower the energy consumption.
with about 4Hours at Bettery I wonยดt say that is Mobile. It should at least work a Day without charge. Because the most Time out it only have to measure and write to SDCard without looking someone too it.

Second, It would be good if it could automaticaly synch the Data when it gets an Internet Connection.

Third, It sghould not delete the SDCard data after sychronizing. But should write all measuements to the Card in a fifo manner.

fourth local access to Card via W-Lan or USB, to copy the Data to a local DB or CSV File via Script.

    Thanks,

    Hello,

I finally received the Model D ordered in 2015. After many logistics issues it was delivered this week.

When on the uradmonitor.com map, my unit is still referenced in China.

The RTC clock seems giving the chinese time. Interesting but I prefer the CEST one ๐Ÿ˜‰

The GPS is locating the device properly and it is well online.

    unit id : 64000005

    any clue ?

thanks in advance for your help.

    best regards,

    Jef

It would be nice if you added the link “https://www.uradmonitor.com/?open=51000070&sensor=cpm” to the sensor page itself, the only link is to the monitor model when you bring up a specific sensor, but there is no way to share that sensor with others since the url does not change.

In other words, how can I look into the past data without the map returning quickly to the current location of the device?

That’s easy – deselect the “Automated refresh” box ๐Ÿ™‚

I can eliminate GPS status as being a contributor to the issue I’ve been having with the SD card going offline; so that leaves:

    • it connects to wireless (after not being connected)
    • the screen is on (possible factor)
    • being on the Settings screen (possible factor)

I’ve had five different types of GPS antennas (plus a random antenna that one of the sellers included) sitting on my desk for a few days now, see attached, but still no details about how to take the model-D apart without damaging the screen/cable or possibly sensitive components; @radhoo can you please supply this information?

    –edit–
I guess the forum just drops images that are too large, without warning…
It also seems that referencing someone using @ no longer links to them.
While I’m on it, why is quoted text so large? And is it possible to enable some sort of post preview? The text editor for posting it pretty ordinary, so it can be a surprise as to what the resulting post might look like.
