    Hello @Wolferl ,

    People who stumble across your website without knowledge about that project and its abilites, should see something more meaningful, like radiation (since all sensors have at least that).
    As far as temperature goes, it would be nice to have a flag that shows if the unit is mounted indoors or outdoors.

    Sorry, I don’t do that.

    Temperature is simply the first item in the list of sensors. That’s it. The frontend shows the list in order.
    The internal temperature is being compensated and should be very close to the external, real temperature, please check it.

    Hi Richard, I will see what can be done, others requested this as well.
    I was reluctant to allowing such long strings due to the limited amount of RAM on the microcontroller of the model D.

    Hello Costo, thanks for the message, yet I must admit I have little success in understanding what troubles you: you can still open the map with radiation selected by default: http://uradmonitor.com/?sensor=cpm

    The model A is still part of the portfolio, being one of the best products designed so far. So is the A3, which continues the radiation monitoring legacy.

    Pollution affects more people (about 7million/year worldwide and about half a million per year in Europe) than radiation related incidents did during history. And the numbers are increasing considering where our society and way of living is going.

    So the project tries to help more people, adding more sensors and leveraging on the mature IOT infrastructure developed so far. What’s wrong with that?

    Yes,

    There are three sounds that can be produced by the A3:

    a) one short beep at startup
    b) two long beeps anytime when the Geiger tube inverter fails to produce 380V
    c) three long beeps in case of network failure:
    — for Ethernet this can be due to missing DHCP settings
    — for Wifi this is due to being unable to connect to the AP (low signal, invalid credentials)
    — for LoRaWAN, unable to join the gateway
    — for GSM, unable to perform a GPRS attach

    Sorry to hear about your health issues.

    The BME680 is a mems sensor, but for detecting VOC it operates on the same principle like any other semiconductor / metal oxide sensor. Read on that here: http://www.edaphic.com.au/gas-detection-encyclopedia/semiconductor-sensors/
    The sensor initiates REDOX chemical reactions on a heated filament, resulting in ionised local air and as a result modified electrical resistance. A cleaner air will produce less such reactions, resulting in poor conductivity and increased resistance, while a polluted air will increase conductivity resulting in lower resistance.

    Given the existence of many different gases / vapours / chemicals, any ppm would be an approximation for a particular class of substances. Their molar mass / burn rate / ionising resulting compounds and multiple other properties and complicated chemistry, make it impossible to compute an absolute ppm level, or to identify the substances.

    On the other hand it offers a clear indication of changes in the air composition, and since the uRADMonitor records all data online, you have access to a history chart and you can correlate that to your condition. It will help you link the numbers to various emissions and their effect on your health.
