That’s a good approach, however I’m not sure on how often the monitoring site calls the API.
If too often, it might trigger the DoS protection and get ignored (interpreted as a sigh of deliberate server resources consumption).
EDIT: Indeed if there is no recent data, the JSOn answer will show an empty array (no matches).
