    Hey Radu (and everyone else),

    I just got the Smoggie PM (awesome!). I connected it to WIFI and it displays the PM data through its local interface, though I have 2 issues:

    1. The device is offline with no data in the dashboard on uradmonitor.com
    2. The charger gets really hot and I can’t hold my hand on it more than 2 seconds, is this normal? I have another Smoggie CO2 and it does not have this problem, the temperature is ok-ish, warm when touching it. I’m inclined to purchase a better charger if you point me in the right direction. Any thoughts?

    hi Catalin,

    No, the charger should not get hot, neither warm actually. I suspect there is something wrong with the charger you received. As a quick test, please use the SMOGGIE-CO2 charger to see if the problem goes away.

    Then I can either send you a replacement charger, or simply use any of the standard USB ones you may have lying around from old phones or tablets. SMOGGIE needs very little to run, so even a 5V 250mA charger would work (most are 5V 1A).

    No need to send a replacement, I’ll just get one and that would probably fix it, thanks!

    Did you have a chance to figure out why it’s not being read in the dashboard? It’s still marked as offline while it’s running and connected to WIFI
    Everything looks good on my side

    Please include a snapshot of its internal webpage. You can access it opening the unit’s IP in your browser.

    Sure, here it is:

    Your unit seems to get no IP and DNS addresses (“IP unset”), that’s why it cannot contact the uradmonitor server.
    You seem to have correctly setup the access to your Wifi (it says “Wifi:connected”). Does you Wifi router have DHCP activated (it usually is)?
    It could also be a routing or firewall issue, though.

    @Wolferl

    Ah true! I didn’t catch that.
    It was a strange scenario, because, while it was saying it is connected to the WIFI in its local web interface, in the Router DHCP config, I couldn’t find it. Here, I suspect it never connected, while the Smoggie erroneously stating it is Connected in its local interface.

    I tried reconnecting again to the WIFI (the one I wanted was already selected) and added in the password, but kept saying the SSID or password is incorrect. Though they were correct.

    Solution:
    I tried connecting to a different WIFI then back to the initial one and it connected successfully with a given IP.
    That was strange, but by reconnecting again made it work and it’s now in the Dashboard

    Awesome stuff, cheers!

    Hi Radu,

    I’m reviving this topic 4 years later 🙂
    After some time of not using the smoggie pm, I’ve moved to a new place and I’m now trying to get it to connect to the wifi with no luck.

    Here are is the current development:

    – I can connect to it via serial and I can get settings, data and set data such as key1, key2:
    {“settings”:{“key1″:”***”,”key2″:”***”,”key3″:””,”key4″:””,”server”:”data.uradmonitor.com”,”script”:”/api/v1/upload/ex/”,”warmup”:0,”sendint”:60,”encrypt”:1,”mute”:1,”disableap”:0,”sw”:22,”hw”:4,”status”:”connected”}}

    {“id”:”*****4F”,”temperature”:28.80,”humidity”:44.00,”pressure”:99449,”pm1″:3,”pm25″:4,”pm10″:4,”uptime”:244}}

    – the device has the green led on all the time with the blue one popping up now and then

    – I added the key1 and key2 to 3 different WIFIs already and it doesn’t connect. I checked via the router, seeing no new connections

    – Connecting to its hotspot does not work – the wifi id appears now and then and when it’s there, it doesn’t accept a connection

    Any thoughts?

    I’m bumping this topic as I’m still interested in getting support if still available here.
