Today, I was cooking outside (because I don’t have a kitchen) and I used some questionable wood on the fire during the time this spike occurred. The wood had been treated with a varnish. I know, I should never burn that wood, especially for cooking. It was all I had. The point is – I (the treated wood) may very well have caused this 1.76 spike.
Here’s another relatively significant spike (no fire this time, been sleeping). 24 April about 01:10 am local time. The CPM in the downloaded data shows a jump to 80 at 4:12am UTC (1:12amocal).20 cpm before and 17 cpm after with no other spikes recorded. The GOES xray flux does show increased solar activity at what appears to be at about that time. http://spaceweathernews.com/
My Model A data has attracted the attention of meteorologists in Uruguay at facebook in Informe Climatico https://www.facebook.com/groups/995917510506913/permalink/1338103819621612/ – they requested a “primer” on what your detectors do, so there’s a thread and a file for educational purposes. I requested to add you, Radu, to the group. I also explained the different air quality tech you produce. Maybe you’ll be receiving product requests from Uruguayos in the future.
