    Hello from Washington DC,
I am a software guy but I like to tinker on hardware project. I saw this super cool project and want to support Radu’s efforts. I certainly hope nothing ever happens but if it does we are on ground-zero. I am running monitor #110000A7, which is still indoors. As soon as I get some time I will more it outside so get more accurate numbers.
    Regards,
    Peter

    Hello there,
I’m Rainer from Germany and just installed my supercool Rad Monitor in my home. At the moment it sits on my desk, but I will try to get the cables outside to have better readings. I really liked the setup process: Plug in – done. Great work Radu!
    My device is 110000DD.
    My device in new window
I joined this project on Indigogo because I like to play with all kind of sensors. Temperature und humidity are easy, but I did not have a radiation monitor so far.
I’m really happy to be part of the network šŸ™‚ It would be interesting for me, how the other German users came across this project.
    Best wishes šŸ™‚

Hi everyone, I’m Don from Finland (Originally from the UK). I am an Infrastructure support team lead. My spare time is mostly spent trying not to release blue smoke from components. I have just received and installed 12000006.

Looking forward to being part of this great project.

    Regards, Don.

    Hi all.

Dave from Malaysia – just built unit 5100006A this evening & it worked immediately. First unit in South East Asia by the looks of it.
Electronics Engineer by training but Software Engineer by profession these days, specialising in big data collection & analysis.
So hobbies are environmental monitoring around the house as well as power monitoring, aircraft (flightaware) and ship (AIS) tracking & sharing.

Kit build was easy except the 3 diodes supplied were a little big & didn’t fit nicely. And was thinking from the instructions that I had to program the Atmel but luckily I didn’t.

Hey DPB , congrats on running the very first uRADMonitor in that part of the world! Are the coordinates ok or do they need any adjustments? Also would love to see a few pics with your construction, we have a thread for that, please post a few there: https://www.uradmonitor.com/topic/soldering-the-kit1/

    Hello from Groton Connecticut.
I am running unit 110000E7, which is still indoors. As soon as I get some time I will move it outside so get more accurate numbers.
Is there a way to adjust its placement on the map? I am many miles off base currently. This is significant as I am in proximity to several installations of nuclear reactors which is partly why I chose to participate in this project.

Just send me the coordinates you want it to show at (in decimal formal) and the city name. There will be a feature to change the coordinates yourselves, directly, but it is not yet ready.

Hello all. This is Abraham, from Guadalajara, Mexico, running unit #5100001D. It was a couple of hours of fun, assembling the kit. Now that it is running, i find myself concerned with the average high readings that i am getting (around .3 uS/H). Can this be a problem with the geiger tube, or are we really being slowly cooked? I have also posted a few pictures of my assmebly process, and put in a request for coordinate adjustment, as the unit shows a bit off in the map. Anyway, its nice to meet yall, and to become a part of this community. Bye for now!

    Hi Abraham, and welcome!

Indeed your readings are higher. We’ll need to expand the network in your area and have some redundancy on the measurements.

    Hi all,

I’m Stefanos from Athens and i would like to join the network with my DYI build of the KIT-1.1.103.

The unit is located at 37.912384, 23.750778 at an altitude of ~150m
I suppose that i also need a proper monitor ID to be assigned as the one from the .hex is already alive in Romania.

Soon i will have an SMB20 tube to replace the temporarily used STS-5.
I also expect a BMP sensor to arrive soon that will be added on the pcb, waiting for the firmware support.

    Hello Painter, welcome!

Your DIY unit looks great. I’ll send you a valid ID and some observations regarding the STS5 tube vs SBM20 via email.
Also, make sure to post your construction on https://www.uradmonitor.com/topic/soldering-the-kit1/ , for a chance to win an A2 unit.

    Hi everybody!

Iā€™m Keld Norman, located in Denmark.

I just finished installing my SBM20 detector today šŸ™‚

The unit is placed outside approximately 1 meter above ground as recommended and I have secured it against moisture with a coating of latex around the cable connections (I bought a bottle of liquid latex on Ebay for a few $).

    Cheers
    /Keld
